General Information

Academic Assessment :

It is Washington Adult Education Policy that passing the Academic Assessment Test (CASAS) with a score of at least 236 in each sub= ject required by the specific program meets minimal standards. High School Diploma students are required to assess wit= h a minimum score of 236. Students scoring below 236 are eligible to reassess after 12 hours of remedial instruction.

Attendance:

To receive credit = in an Adult Education class, a student must attend class sessions regularly, exhibit good conduct, and complete all required class work. The school is financed by State and Federal funds allocated on hourly attendance. Therefore, students MUST be in regular attendance to ensure continuation = of the class. Classes with attendance below sixteen students per hour are subject to reduced hours or cancellation. Individual students may be drop= ped due to lack of attendance.

Diploma:

Washington Adult Education grants diplomas in June to those = who meet the State and WUSD graduation requirements. The total number of cred= its needed to obtain an Adult Education High School Diploma is 200.

Uniform Complaint Procedures:

It is the goal of Washington Adult Education to ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal laws and regulations. The District has adopted policies and procedures for the investigation and resolution of complaints alleging failure to comply with applicable State and Federal laws. The District monitors compliance with provisions outlined in the uniform complaint process. Complaints or allegations regarding noncompliance wi= th applicable State and Federal laws should be submitted in writing to the District Office at 930 Westacre Rd., West Sacramento, CA 95691. Copies of the Uniform Com= plaint Procedure Policy are available in the WAE office.
