January 13 Meeting
The second meeting of the Superintendent's Budget Advisory Committee was very productive. Mr. Scott Lantsberger, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, presented the group with an update on the District's financial postion based on the Governor's budget proposal for fiscal 2010/11 which was relased on January the 8th. The committee then split into groups and developed potential expenditure reductions which were compiled into a comprehensive list. The proposed expenditure reductions will have a dollar value added to them (calculated by the Fiscal Services Department) and will be prioritized by the committee at the January 20th meeting.

January 6 Meeting
The group talked about the role of the committee and reviewed background information about the district's financial condition, which is relatively strong. The group also looked at the areas where other districts are reducing expenditures. This meeting was preliminary because the Governor was releasing his budget later in the week, and that budget might change the reduction amount needed.
The group will meet every Wednesday night, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in room 75 at the District Office. (Note: The group decided at the January 13 meeting to move the meetings from a 5:30 p.m. start time to a 5:00 p.m. start time.)
