The LCAP is an important component of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). Under the LCFF all districts are required to prepare an LCAP, which describes how they intend to meet annual goals for all pupils, with specific activities to address state and local priorities. The plan describes the school district's overall vision for students, annual goals and specific actions the district will take to achieve the vision and goals. The plan also demonstrates how the district's budget will help achieve the goals and assesses each year how well the strategies in the plan were able to improve outcomes.
Over the last several months, the district has held a variety of community and staff forums seeking input on the development of the LCAP. In addition, the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) and a newly established LCAP Parent Advisory Committee were involved in the development of the plan and have had the opportunity to review the draft document. The District took all of this input into consideration in the development of our LCAP. Section 1 of the LCAP highlights the impact of the stakeholder engagement on the goals and actions outlined in the plan.
The 2016-2019 LCAP was approved by the WUSD Board of Education at the June 23, 2016 regular meeting.
