Arthur F. Turner Community Library

The Arthur F. Turner Community Library moved into a beautiful new building at 1212 Merkeley Avenue. In addision to books and media, the library has a teen room, computer lab, and a homework help center. We encorage all of our families to get library cards and to take advantage of programs for children, teens, and adults offered by the library.

California State Capitol

City of West Sacramento

The City of West Sacramento collaborates with the district to run the KidZone and Club West after school programs. WUSD School Board meetings are held in City Hall.

The City also runs a Recreation Center adjacent to River City High School. The center includes a gym, equipped fitness rooms, a climbing wall, and an extensive aquatics facility, complete with waterslides. Fee.

Fairytale Town

Fairytale Town is a children's play park and outdoor museum. Younger children love the colorful characters. Admission fee.

First 5 Yolo Children and Families Commission

Sacramento Zoo

The Sacramento Zoo is a great place to take the family. Children can learn about how different animals use their senses to communicate, hunt, and evade predators to survive in their native habitats. Admission fee.

Yolo County Children's Alliance

The Yolo County Children's Alliance connects our families with low cost health insurance, and runs a giveway day at Westfield Village to find new homes for gently used items much needed by our families.
