Technology

As we move toward more online resources, we are being mindful of student needs for technology and internet access. If you have a computer that your child can use at home, please provide that access. Our Instructional Technology team has a plan in place to provide Chromebooks and Internet Access to students who lack these resources.

Details will be shared through phone calls and email messaging together with school and district websites and social media. For more information or questions please contact your teacher and site administrator via telephone, Google Classroom, email or leave a message with your school’s main office and we will provide assistance as soon as possible.

What You Need to Know

Each school has been assigned a date to distribute Chromebooks within the window of Thursday, April 2, 2020 through Tuesday, April 7, 2020 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at school sites. You will receive directions from your principal with your assigned date and 1-hour window to pick up your Chromebook.

SOCIAL DISTANCING STILL APPLIES

We strongly encourage all families to please arrive in your cars and stay in your cars. Driving provides us and you with an extra layer of caution in order to maintain proper health and safety guidelines. Upon arrival at your school, simply drive up to the designated area and our staff will assist you with checking out a Chromebook.

If you do decide to walk to your school, please go directly to the designated area. We ask that you please allow for 6 feet of separation and be mindful of those around you in order to minimize any potential risks.

Chromebook distribution days are not intended to be social gatherings. Please do not linger on campus or engage in conversations outside of what is needed to check out your Chromebook.

What You Need To Do
  • Bring a student ID card for each student checking out a Chromebook.
    • If you don’t have a student ID card, make sure you know the ID number (lunch number) and the name of the student’s teacher.
  • Students are encouraged to accompany their parents/guardians to pick up devices but parents/guardians may pick up devices without students present. Chromebooks will not be distributed without a valid student ID number.
  • Parents/Guardians must sign off upon checkout of Chromebook.
If you have not already submitted a request for a Chromebook but are in need of one, please do not worry. Contact your teacher and site administrator via telephone, Google Classroom, email or leave a message with your school’s main office and we will provide assistance as soon as possible.
