Enrollment

Once your interest form is received it will be reviewed to determine eligibility. Families will be contacted by email, phone, or mail as to the status of their interest form.
  • Students are enrolled based on a first come first serve basis so it’s important to submit the interest form as that is the date used to determine the order of enrollment.
  • If based on information provided on the interest form, you are eligible for the program you will be pre-qualified and a preschool family support specialist will contact you to schedule a meeting.
  • At the meeting families will complete the status application and provide proof of income. The state application is the official document used to verify income and determine eligibility.
  • If you meet all qualifications, a preschool enrollment packet will be provided and you will be asked to provide additional documents. You must meet all requirements in order to qualify for our program.
  • Once you receive the enrollment packet, you are responsible to complete and submit all required paperwork and documentation including an annual physical exam signed by your physician.
  • Children residing in the Washington Unified School District attendance area have priority over students living in other attendance areas. Families residing outside the Washington Unified School District attendance area will be admitted on a space-available basis.
  • The program welcomes and is prepared to serve differently-abled children when the program best meets the needs of the child in the least restrictive environment. It may be necessary, at times, to redirect children to facilities or resources that better meet their individual needs.

The Early Childhood Education Programs support this mission with the belief that:
  • Each child is unique and a valuable person.
  • Children are capable of making decisions and solving problems.
  • A diverse and enriched curriculum is based on state-adopted standards, sensitive to the ages and stages of children in our care, engaging their minds, bodies and spirits in constructive work and play.
  • Guided environments affirm and encourage children’s natural desire to learn.
  • We create a safe, secure, and trusting place where individuals and relationships are supportive, nurtured, and accepted.
  • All students have a right to a developmentally appropriate and challenging educational program that integrates learning opportunities with high expectations.
We provide a warm, friendly environment where we help all children feel secure and appreciated. Children can try out various ways of interacting and behaving without fear and risking ridicule. We provide this environment to assist children in becoming independent and developing positive self-esteem. We pledge to do all we can to earn the trust that our parents have placed in us.
