Jannette is a West Sacramento resident who is actively involved in her community. She has volunteered extensively in school classrooms, events, and fundraising efforts and has served as a board member of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at one of WUSD’s elementary schools. These experiences have given her invaluable insights into the needs of students and families.
 
Jannette holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communications from California State University, Sacramento, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Training and Development from Roosevelt University. Her educational journey has equipped her with the skills to communicate effectively, collaborate, and lead, both in her professional career and as a school board trustee.
 
A senior financial specialist for the United States Geological Survey (USGS), Jannette started her federal service as a student employee in 2007. Over the years, she has gained comprehensive experience in organizational operations and financial management, which allows her to approach complex issues with a strategic and solutions-oriented mindset.
 
As a first-generation Mexican American, a proud wife, and a mother of two children currently attending schools within the district, Jannette has a strong personal connection to the local education system. Her firsthand experience as a parent and her dedication to fostering inclusivity and diversity drive her efforts as a trustee. She is committed to advocating for policies that benefit all students and promote a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
