Thank you for your interest in volunteering in our schools!
Beginning July 1, 2026, a new California law, Senate Bill (SB) 848, requires all school volunteers to complete Mandated Reporter Training every school year before volunteering at any WUSD school or program. Therefore, in order to serve as a volunteer, you will need to complete a one (1) hour mandatory training each school year you will want to serve as a volunteer. To make this process easier for volunteers, you will be able to complete the training online.

If you are wanting to volunteer with WUSD for the first time, you will need to take a few additional steps.
Step 1: Pick up a Volunteer Request Form from your school office or the District Office.
Step 2: Have an administrator of the school site you wish to volunteer with sign for approval.
Step 3: Once the District receives your approved form, you will receive an email from the WUSD Human Resources Department with your training login information to the online platform Keenan.

Volunteer approval is valid for the current school year. The required Mandated Reporter Training must be completed again each school year if you wish to continue volunteering.
Thank you for helping make our schools safe, welcoming, and successful for all students. We value your partnership and look forward to working with you.
