Thank you for your interest in volunteering in our schools!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering in our schools!

Washington Unified School District (WUSD) continues to follow current guidance from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to adapt protocols across levels of district operations. As such, our team has reviewed and adjusted districtwide volunteer policies to align with current guidelines while ensuring the highest degree of safety and well-being for everyone on school campuses.

Please note that the State Public Health Order from August 11, 2021, is still in place, requiring all school workers to provide proof of vaccination or undergo regular (at least once weekly) COVID-19 testing. School workers include staff and volunteers on-site at a school campus supporting school functions. With this information in mind and aligning with school site needs, WUSD is pleased to announce that we will modify our volunteer process to allow unvaccinated volunteers.  Unvaccinated volunteers will need to provide WUSD Human Resources with a weekly negative COVID-19 test.

WUSD is grateful for the support of its community and welcomes all volunteers ready to contribute to the success of school events, activities, and daily learning experiences. Below you will find more information regarding the volunteer process in our schools. These changes take effect Wednesday, September 7, 2022.
