Attendance Awareness Month Banner graphic

At Washington Unified School District (WUSD), our teachers are uniquely empowered to remove systemic barriers facing disadvantaged students by providing a world-class education that considers cultural differences and puts the needs of individual students first.

Throughout the school year, and especially during Attendance Awareness Month, we aim to capture some of the voices of WUSD that help us make our students’ education a success. From the parents who encourage to the counselors who guide, the educators who prepare, and the community that supports, it truly does take a village to help our students be fully present in their education.

We encourage you to use September as a springboard to having conversations with friends and family about prioritizing attendance and its impact on our students' long-term success. When our students are present in school, physically, mentally, and emotionally, they are surrounded by a fantastic network of support to help them reach their full potential.
