In June, Washington Unified will offer comprehensive summer enrichment opportunities providing supplemental instructional support to ensure student needs in academic, social-emotional, and many other areas.

This program supports students at the early stages of English Language Development based on their annual language assessment scores. Through engaging thematic instruction and interactive strategies, we will provide 19 days of language learning fun!

 

Dates: June 12 to July 10 (No school June 19 and July 3)

WMCHS offers an extended learning opportunity for students at the middle college who need to retake standards-based assessments and/ or improve grades from the Fall and Spring semesters.

 

Dates: June 1-11

 

Times: 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

 

Location: WMCHS, 637 Todhunter Avenue, Rooms 1 and 2

 

Attendees: Eligible students currently enrolled in WMCHS are invited.

 

Transportation: Provided ONLY on regular routes/times through June 4th.

This summer program supports students in earning some credits through an online platform called Edgenuity. This allows students to focus on the courses that they need. Courses in Edgenuity have been set as credit recovery courses. Students can work at their own pace. The expectation is to have students complete at least two courses (10 credits) within this timeframe.

The Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP) provides a wide range of activities and opportunities for students beyond the regular school day. These programs aim to enrich students' educational experiences, foster their personal development, and provide a safe and supportive environment for learning.

The Special Education Extended School Year (ESY) summer school program focuses on activities that support student IEPs. The Individual Education Program (IEP) team must determine the need for ESY services individually each year.

River City High School (RCHS) will host a credit recovery program for RCHS students.

This program provides exploratory Arts, Media & Entertainment instruction culminating in a final community showcase. Register online.

At Freedom Schools, students are encouraged to believe in their ability to make a difference in themselves, their families, communities, nation, and the world. Freedom schools focus on culturally responsive literacy, social action, civic engagement, and intergenerational leadership development.
